Your ID or driver's license linked to Apple Pay, that's what Apple intends with Wallet

Once again, Apple's patents let us see in which lines of work Apple is focusing its efforts and that is that the Apple Watch and Wallet, as well as Touch ID and Face ID biometric sensors are the future of authentication.

In this case we have a patent in which it is specified that Apple would be studying how to use the NFC chip of its devices such as the iPhone or the Apple Watch to store and use NFC not only credit cards but also your identity card, your passport or your driving license.

It is clear that the future of authentications is that one day we implant a chip in which our identity data is recorded and cannot be modified in any way. As that is still a bit far away, Apple wants to work on that path and the patent that has been known speaks of store in Wallet not just credit cards but also the doctor's cards, the ID or the driving license.

In this way, making use of NFC technology and Apple's encryption methods, extremely secure forms of authentication could be achieved that guarantee the authenticity of what they transmit. Undoubtedly the Apple Watch is the key device and now that it has technology it reads, EVEN IF I AM NOT IN Spain yet We could be connected at all times to be able to have that digitized data inside.

We could even be in the pool swimming and inside the Apple Watch we could have the ID, passport or who knows what kind of extra document.

As published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Apple has a patent application first filed in March for a "Import documents safely". It would be a new format and standard that would allow the storage of verified documents such as a passport, driving license or other identification document.

What do you think about all this? Do you think the future goes through this type of storage for that type of documents?
