Some Mac users with OS X Yosemite have found that the Bluetooth recognition of their devices is not exactly very reliable to say, either in the connections that the system constantly makes to discover said devices or even sometimes it does not even detect them.
For example, some time ago we told you how connect a Playstation 4 controller to your Mac But if the Bluetooth connection does not work correctly, the driver will not be able to be installed and therefore the remote will not be recognized by the system, despite being near the equipment and following the instructions correctly.
An easy way to know if the problem is with the operating system itself or with the particular device is if that device was working prior to the update to OS X Yosemite.
While general Bluetooth device disconnection issues can be caused by a variety of different situations, from low battery on a laptop poor signal qualityIn this particular case in which no Bluetooth hardware is directly detected, it seems to be specific to OS X Yosemite and the Bluetooth protocol itself.
The solution to the problem is somewhat unusual, but also quite easy to carry out:
- Disconnect all USB devices from the Mac.
- Shut down the Mac and leave it like that for about 2 minutes.
- Boot up the Mac again and then reconnect all USB devices again.
- Try again to sync the Bluetooth device with the Mac through the OS X System Preferences panel.
Seems a bit miss the solution to the problem, but according to different reports this sometimes works. If you continue to experience problems you may dyou had to reset the SMC (System Management Driver) from your Mac.
