Use the "Show Magnifier" tool in Preview

ZOOM PREVIEW COVER

On more than one occasion, we have indicated that the operating system of the bitten apple is a system full of tools and utilities that makes difficult things become easy.

Another of the great strengths of this operating system is that it includes an infinity of “standard” tools that in other systems would be third-party applications with all that that entails. Today we are going to talk to you once more about the tool "magnifying glass" but in this case from the system application Preview.

Within the Apple operating system, we can zoom the screen in several ways. The fastest is looking for a third-party application in the Mac App Store and paying the euro or two euros that it costs in the best case. Some time ago we presented you with the application Zoom It, available in the application store at a price of 2,69 euros. However, if you have wondered if there is no equivalent within the system itself, the answer is yes.

ZOOM IT

Later on we will explain how to use the zoom tool that OSX itself has. For this you must go to System preferences and get inside Accessibility. Once there, in the right bar you can select the category of ZOOM and in the window on the right you can configure it in such a way that among other settings you can activate it pressing the CTRL key plus swipe by mouse.

ACTIVATE ZOOM CONTROL

Today we bring you one more way to use the ZOOM tool, but this time within the Preview application, an application in which we can open PDF and image files to view them quickly, among other actions. The point is that if you open an image and you need to zoom in on a part of it, within Preview there is also a magnifying glass tool, without having to choose to zoom the entire screen with CTRL plus move your finger on the mouse . The "magnifying glass tool" within Preview is located in the top menu Tools.

ZOOM PREVIEW

As you can see in the image, when we use this tool, the zoom is punctual within Preview and where we move the cursor.

Now you already have three different ways to make a ZOOM in OSX so you are the one who, depending on the situation in which you find yourself and what you need, choose the way you use these tools.
