Since the last Keynote last October of this year, many Apple users are faced with the question of whether we will finally buy the latest MacBook Pro, which includes the main feature of the Touch Bar, or not. Well, to satisfy many of our doubts about whether to finally opt for such an expensive purchase or not, Red Sweater has developed Touch, and has ample possibilities to help us choose to buy or not.
Of course, more than a solution, it is a kind of patch. The well-known developer has launched Touché, a free application for Mac that allows us to simulate on our screen the Touch Bar of the new MacBook Pro. In this way, we can almost perfectly simulate how it works, understand if it is really useful and become familiar with how to use it.
We are surprised to see that the developer has released this application at no cost, for free. When installing the app, we can see a small window simulating the appearance of the well-known auxiliary bar, with different shortcuts, such as the ESC key or copy and paste buttons.
As the bar really works, Touché will change depending on the application we are using. Thus, will simulate the real Touch Bar as well as possible of the MacBook Pro Late 2016.
They cannot promise an intensive support in case of errors in the app, but There is an email in which we can communicate if we have any problem with the App. The developer agrees to respond to us in less than 24 hours. As the team itself says after Red Sweater:
"We would be delighted to hear from you about your experience of using our new software."
It is important to mention that to make use of this interesting patch it is necessary to have our MacBook upgraded to macOS Sierra 10.12.1.
With version 10.12.1 installed it does not work.
With version 10.12.1 it doesn't work either. The required build number is not the one corresponding to version 10.12.1, at least in my case.
Thanks Javier. I saw the version on the developer's website, but I did not dare to update as I did not know for sure what differences there are with the one distributed by Apple through the updates of the App Store.
