The new Chrome for Mac is faster than Safari

Last week Google launched its new Chrome, the version 99 of the popular browser of the guys from Mountain View. And now they are showing off their chest announcing that the version of said update for macOS is faster than Apple's Safari browser.

Speedometer 2.0 is Apple's WebKit application used by developers to measure the speed of Internet browsers. In that tool, Safari typically achieves a score of 277 points. Well, Chrome 99 for macOS reaches the 300 points.

They further explain that Chrome version 99 enables a build optimization technique (ThinLTO) that prioritizes code focused on browser speed. Google notes that Chrome is now 7% faster than Safari, while graphics performance is 15% faster than Apple's browser when ThinLTO it is combined with graphic optimizations of the pass-through decoder and OOP rasterization.

But as I explained at the beginning, if a user switches to Safari instead of Chrome, I doubt that with this speed increase, they will switch to Google's browser. it is evident that users of Macs feel much safer using a native Apple app to navigate, than having to use one from Google, like Chrome. no matter how fast it is.
