The Mac App Store does not evolve and Bohemian Coding withdraws its Sketch 3 application from the store

Bohemian Coding, the developer behind the popular Sketch design application available on the Mac App Store, has announced that it is withdrawing its application from the Apple store permanently for a series of circumstances that hinder the user experience.

On the other hand, users who have already acquired this application through the Mac App Store, of course, will continue to be able to use the application but nevertheless it will no longer be updated through the store, but will have to download the various updates outside of it, on the official website.

The reasons why Sketch has left the Mac App Store we can read on the blog itself that the company has on its website:

There are a number of reasons Sketch was removed from the Mac App Store, many of which in isolation would not cause us any major concerns. However, as with complaints, when they are all put together they make it difficult to justify why it is still there. There are technical limitations imposed by the Mac App Store's own guidelines (sandboxing themes and the like) that limit some of the features that Sketch can perform, and the pricing enhancement remains unavailable.
The developers hope that offering Sketch directly, without intermediaries, will lead to a better overall user experience.

If you purchased Sketch from the Mac App Store and want to change the purchase to a direct download from the Bohemian Coding official website, you will not have to buy the application again. Simply download the application from the developer, replace the version from the App Store in the Applications folder and enter your email address to receive the new license key. If you are a new Sketch user, you can download a trial version from the web for later if you are interested in paying the 99 dollars it costs.
