Yesterday, Apple released the OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 update, which promised to bring with it greater reliability of Wi-Fi connectivity on Mac computers, after a large number of users reported connection problems that began to happen with the new operating system. However, from Computerworld it has been reported that a considerable number of users have complained again on Apple's support forums claiming that They continue to have problems with the Wi-Fi connection on their computers even after they have been upgraded to OS X 10.10.1.
Some even say that they are not yet able to connect to a Wi-Fi network, while others point out that their Wi-Fi networks have become slower. A situation that Apple must study urgently, since one of the premises of the new version is that the problems with the Wi-Fi networks had been solved.
The biggest thread right now in the discussion forum on the Apple website is the one that has to do with Wi-Fi connections on Mac computers that work under the new version of the system, OS X10.10.1. It already has more than 1200 entries, mostly from users totally pissed off because they have their computers disabled by these problems. One user even reported Wi-Fi issues with iMac with Retina 5K display and latest Time Capsule.
It seems that the problem has been fixed for some users by doing a clean installation of the system, however, there does not seem to be a general solution for other users who continue to have connectivity problems to Wi-Fi networks. In addition to Wi-Fi issues, other users are reporting issues with OS X Yosemite's dark mode on non-Retina displays, unstable Bluetooth connections, and high CPU usage.
Apple has not issued an official statement on these issues, although Apple support representatives have instructed users to remove excess preferred networks. in the Network section of System Preferences and resetting the system management controller.
I think that when saying "multiple users" I should mention where those users are complaining, I don't see a single source, and that happens in each of their notes. I don't think that is correct.
If any user says where they are because the truth so far my iMac is wonderful I think that happens with a person with little experience, that's all.
Greetings team soydemac
Hi Robert, I am an experienced user, an advocate for Apple because I believe that there is no such reliable and cost effective system that outperforms it. I have been working with Mac for more than 8 years and more than 25 years dedicating myself to graphic, web and multimedia design at a professional level. Before the design I was a programmer and I have never had problems with my computers and I have been able to solve them on my own. I just want to state here that I have this problem of connectivity with the Wi-Fi since I updated to Yosemite and I have tried many possible solutions that I have found in specialized forums and blogs.
The problem is real, it exists and it is totally true. I keep trying to fix it after the update with no results. I will try as a last solution to call Apple support, which has always been super effective, before doing a clean update again, which is what I did as soon as I left Yosemite since I always prefer to do this type of update when it comes to a generational change of an operating system.
I have not tried to summarize my experience to make any show of knowledge, but to clarify to those who say that lack of experience is the reason for this incident or that there are no real sources of a problem that exists.
Greetings to all!
I have mac book pro retina and if I understand a little maybe not as much as you but if I have problems with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and if I have 10.10.1 ok
I would like to comment to this man that not everyone who has problems with a Mac is because he is not as expert as him.
Anyway, nobody should be an expert to avoid problems with "the wifi"
Some of us had a mac when the apple was striped with colors in the late eighties.
Since then I have had almost all of them. Now I have an Imac and a Macbook pro retina that I am fed up with.
I have seen throughout these years how mrs. Apple have been drifting towards the sect that they are today. Everything you do must inevitably pass through their hands. The last straw is the updates if you update to the latest version of numbers, for example, it tells you that you cannot open a sheet made with the previous version !! and to top it all the message appears: »this sheet should be opened with the previous version of numbes». But if I no longer have it, I just updated it !!!. It's a bad joke.
Mail is one of the worst messaging programs, it cannot be compared with Outlook, etc, etc.
I remember my first Ipod, when you connected it to the computer I asked you "Do you want to use it as an external hard drive?" then you only had to drag the documents even if they were from windows and you also used it to make the backup copy. Now….
I am tired of the cult and those who are incapable of being objective, which is one of the symptoms of being abducted.
I am looking at the possibility of change, although after thirty years it will cost me, but freedom has a price.
Ah! and THE WIFI OF MY MACKBOOK RETINA OF € 2.500 robs me of many hours of work BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY IT WORKS, if it is CONNECTED I have to be careful not to open another page because it leaves.
I'm starting to use the computer, windows, of a partner and believe me they are much better than what some want us to see.
I'm going to sell my 27 ”Imac, the 13” MacBook pro retina with 750GB, the Ipad Air, the Ipone 5 that I doubt anyone wants because like everyone else it turns off when it has 40% battery left, the Apple TV and the Airport Extreme
Apple gadgets have become the complete opposite of what they were years ago. They are very expensive toys for those who are dedicated to playing, sailing and little else. As long as you intend to use them professionally, the incompatibilities and the obsession of "going through the hoop" for anything you want to do have become unbearable.
You just have to ask teenagers because they use less and less iPhone and more Samsung.
After thirty years I am going to stop being a Mac.
regards
Good Cesar,
that's certainly a very respectable opinion, but I don't think it's welcome to compare Apple to a cult, let me explain. I am a user of Apple and other brands like most people, the truth is that Apple has that gift of either liking a lot or not liking anything, but nobody forces you to stay or buy a Mac, iPhone or iPad, just like nobody forces you to buy a Samsung, Motorola or LG.
The changes are always complicated for both sides, if you come from Mac from the beginning it is true that many things have improved and others worsened, but that happens with all companies and if not ask users who are on Windows 8, to compare ...
The WiFi thing does seem to be a serious problem and that is why we are here, to tell Apple that it is wrong and to help each other. The problem of the battery of the iPhone 5, if it were you, I would look on the Apple website because you have a program to replace defective batteries, it may be your case and they will change it. https://www.apple.com/es/support/iphone5-battery/
The really important thing is that you work comfortably with your devices whatever the brand, greetings and thanks for your comment.
I still can't connect to my Time Capsule. IMac doesn't see it.
I had no problems with Wi-fi and since this update I started to have them. A fiasco. It's a 2012 Macmini
I had this problem when updating and after searching a lot, the solution to my problem was to delete my network to which I always connect, restart and let Yosemite ask me for the password again ... it worked for me.
I went to 10.10.1 and started with wi-fi problems that in 10.10 I didn't have (Y)
Yosemite is still slow for me on a 2014 Macbook Air.
In my case, with medium wifi, I solve it by turning it off and on directly, what I can't get is that iTunes finds me neither the iphone 6+, nor the 4s, nor the ipad 2 via wifi ………., In short Luckily for usb if they work. Does this happen to any of iTunes? I suppose that when they solve the Wi-Fi issue, the synchronization via Wi-Fi will also be fixed ……… ..
I have a problem with the mail app of the mac book pro with Yosemite, it does not update !! and according to the connection with the server it is correct.
I want to download the drivers of a printer and the Yosemite system does not recognize me, can it be? It asks for the OS 10.10 system as a requirement, but I click and it's like nothing. I try to download it from the hp website, so they are the originals.
Good afternoon, I have been on Mac for a month with my new Macbook Pro 13´de retina ,,,, despite coming from Windows, everything has gone great for me and I am still adapting, I started everything great, but since yesterday that i have upgraded to yosemite 10.10.1, it is impossible to run mail.
I also have Yosemite on my macbook pro retina and I have serious problems with the WI FI, when I connect a Bluetooth device immediately the wi fi connection drops, the truth is to spend so much on a computer and having these problems is inadmissible !!!
Hello good evening;
there are comments that offend a bit and draw conclusions without investigating your answers.
You do not need the EXPERIENCE that some of you say you have to have to say that something is not working correctly A WIFI OR BLUETOOTH CONNECTION to see if I have to be a NASA worker to say that something on my MAC is wrong.
I am from Barcelona (Spain) and I have a 15 ″ macbook pro retina and my bluetooth and wifi are not working well BUT THE WORST THING THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING, they have already changed my antenna, systems and nobody knows what I have to do so that can work well.
Best regards
