Microsoft has just released version 7.9 of Skype, its popular messaging and video calling application for both Mac as for Windows and Linux, which now brings a smarter, more up-to-date and ultimately better web link preview feature.
Now when you share a link and you want to add a few words to create additional context, you can simply send everything at once in a single message. For example, now if an image related to the link is found, the preview of the web page will be displayed automatically with all kinds of detail, in this way contacts can see a web page preview shared with the message.
In relation to the corrections carried out in the application we see the following:
- Messaging: Fixed an issue that caused links to disappear from time to time in the chat itself.
- Messaging: Fixed an issue that prevented GIF images from loading correctly.
- Application: Fixed an issue causing the application on Macs with Force Touch trackpads.
We also have the ability to test Skype through the web although the online service still is in beta state and it might not work stably, recommending this method only on computers where we cannot install the native Skype client, such as computers where we do not have administrator permissions to install programs.
