The first time I got an iDevice I started to install those typical applications that you have heard of and that help you in different daily aspects. The typical games to pass the time, but without a doubt the most interesting were applications like Shazam, an application that allowed us to identify any song that was playing around us. A very interesting utility with which we would no longer be left with doubts about the title of a song that we liked, from then on you began to see people approach the speakers of the sites with Shazam in hand.
Of course, sure that most of you, if not all, already knew the application, and it is a very very useful application, I once felt the need to make a list of songs that sounded in various programs of radio and the truth is that the speed of Shazam left me quite surprised. Comments and experiences aside ... Shazam now comes to Mac with a new version that will allow us to use our Mac to identify any song.
We will no longer need our iPhone or our iPad (very much in the wake of Apple with Continuity), and that is why we are going to have to look for our iPhone and use it if we are working from our Mac.
The application can be found directly in the App Store (we have left the link at the end of the post), and (bad part in my opinion) it is an application that will run in the background and we will always have it ready to recognize the music that is playing.
As in the other applications, We will have the possibility to access the lyrics of the songs, video clips, or links to the iTunes Store.
Quite an interesting move on the part of Shazam, which as you know will have a greater presence in the Apple world through iOS 8 because it will be integrated into Siri.
Hi!
I just installed it on my Macbook Pro retina and after many tests I have not managed to detect anything, not music played on the TV, or on my phone or on the computer itself.
Someone has tried?
A greeting!
Tony
Perfectly, although sometimes it gets messy in some cases where there are dictions that mix with the music, giving wrong results; these also cannot be removed from the list, something I assume they will solve. Otherwise well.
Hi!
Have you made any special configuration for the firewall, micro, etc ...?
As I comment, I have not gotten it to work, and I do not know what to look at.
Regards, and thank you very much!
Tony
Well no, nothing, install and go. By chance try to repair the permissions, to see if that is solved.
Hi!
Well, I have it! Turns out it's the mic settings in the 'audio MIDI setup' program. I had it with a sample rate of 96khz and with 24 bits. I have left it at 44,1 khz and 16 bits (the values of the CD's) and it has started working!
Well, I hope this can be useful to someone!
Thank you very much trotamundo65 for your help!
Regards!
Toni.
You're welcome 🙂
