Screen sharing from the Messages app

Another of the new options that we have available in the new Apple operating system is to share the screen with other users, for this we only have to have an iCloud account and know the other user's Apple ID. For screen sharing to work, it is obviously necessary to have the latest version of OS X Yosemite installed and that the other person is also on this version.

This functionality opens up an interesting range of possibilities and it should be noted that something similar we had in iChat, but with the arrival of Messages this function disappeared or rather it was relegated to other types of accounts, Jabber or AIM, which required third-party software to work. Now it's much easier with Messages.

To start we have to enter the Messages application Mac and find the person with whom we want to share our screen. Once we have the person in the message window, we just have to click on Details and in the double window icon To send the request to share screen, from now on all the machinery is put into operation so that communication between both users is fluid, and the truth is that it is.

The first thing we see activate once the screen sharing request is accepted is the microphone of our Mac and in this way we can speak directly with the person to comment on what we are seeing on the screen. In addition, the microphone shows the option to mute in case someone enters our office or simply because we do not want to speak at that time, it also allows you to pause the screen sharing option at any time. Now we have no excuse to prepare a presentation with someone, show a website to a friend, choose seats in a show or whatever we can think of.

Have you tried it yet? Have you used Messages to create your group talks?
