Recover mistakenly deleted data from your Mac

RECOVER BIN DATA

Practically every day and several times in some cases we delete documents or applications. When they are deleted, we all know that the system deposits them in the recycle bin. The real problem arises when, due to a simple accident, we delete the files, empty the trash and later we want to recover them. Again and again we search the «Paper bin" waiting for them to appear out of nowhere, but our omens are fulfilled. They have disappeared.

In this post, we want to make you see that the process to be able to recover files that have been deleted from the trash it depends on several factors. The main aspect to take into account is "TIME". We will not work the same if it has been a long time since the catastrophe has occurred or little has happened, since the simple fact of installing programs means that the data we want to rescue is already definitively "rewritten".

On a Mac and in general on any computer or device that has an internal disk, every time we delete files or applications, even if we empty the trash, the files are still on the computer. It is when the user performs other installations later, when there is a possibility that they will disappear permanently.

All this is because OSX when we send information to the trash, marks the space belonging to that information as free to be able to overwrite information on it. It does not matter what we have to do with the Mac, but we will never install anything before performing the following steps.

  • Search in Spotlight

We will always do a search in Spotlight to verify that the file is not hidden in a location where we have mistakenly sent the information without realizing it and if we do not find anything, we will have to do the following.

  • Prevention is better than cure

To protect you from the massive loss of data, one of the things that both Apple and Apple's authorized technical services (for example UNIVERSOMAC) advise us is the use of a very important utility that the apple operating system offers us, " Time Machine ”, a program that makes a backup copy of our entire hard drive. The utility makes a partition on the Mac's own disk or on an external one and proceeds to make a complete copy the first time and then only updates the changes "incrementally".

  • Programs to recover files

If you are in the event that you have not backed up your information, there are free and paid programs to recover those files even after a Mac has been formatted, such as Mac Data Recovery, Disk Drill or EaseUS Mac Undelete.

This type of "software" allows you to search for files such as lost pictures or photos, music, documents and other data not only on the hard drive but also on external drives such as a USB, portable disks or even memory cards.

Remember that if the files have been rewritten, no matter what program is used, they cannot be recovered. The limitation is not in the search 'software' that is used but in whether or not the computer has written on top of the document or file.

    Excellent information. Thanks for sharing.

I just installed Mavericks offered by Apple. Download and Install it. Before installing it I created a partition to save my data and another partition to have the applications. When I installed Mavericks, the partition where I had my files disappeared from the Finder and only the applications partition is visible.

The partition is not visible? How do I get it back? If I look for some file name I find them but the partition does not appear anywhere. what do you recommmend me to do?

    regards

None of the programs you mention is free. They have a trial, in any case, but all three are paid software.

It will have happened to many people that they have lost a lot of essential information due to a defective hard drive or something similar, this article is very useful for them. If the hard drives are erased, there are numerous computer programs, and depending on which device we can use one or the other: Windows (Recuva), Android (Mobisaver).
I hope this information has helped you
