On many occasions I have found myself in the situation of needing to keep the desktop of my MacBook Air clean since, as a teacher, sometimes I am not interested in students being able to see the files that I have on the desktop.
Our colleague Jordi explained to us some time ago how to quickly hide all the icons, but today we bring you another option that also helps you perform the same action.
The first thing that an OSX user thinks of when it comes to having a clean desktop is to put all the files in their place outside the desktop, which is sometimes not the best option because, at least in my case in the desktop I always have the files of the tasks that most urgently have. Another thought could be to create a new user account and at some point switch between accounts, so that the new account that we create has the desktop clean of files.
However, there is another simpler way and it is through Terminal commands. As I told you, our colleague Jordi already told us a command for this, but today we bring you another that performs the same action.
The first thing you should do is open the Terminal from the Spotlight at the top of the screen or by looking for it within Lauchpad, OTHERS folder.
Once open we are going to write the following command:
Once these two commands have been entered, you will see how the desktop is completely clean. To undo what has been done, just enter the same commands but where we put "False" now we put "true".
I recommend Camouflage 1.25.
Thanks for the input. I'll take a post remembering this small but very useful application.
