A new update for the RAW format support in OS X Mountain Lion it was just released by Apple. This is version 4.07 and it has been available for download for a few hours in the 'updates' section of the App Store on our Mac.
As on previous occasions, Apple continues to add compatibility with this RAW format for the Aperture 3 and iPhoto 11 software of more digital cameras that are capable of taking photographs in this format and today the long list of available two from Panasonic and one from Sony.
Specifically, the three camera models that Apple adds in the update are these:
- Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G6
- Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF6
- Sony Alpha SLT-A58
Most users who like photography surely know the RAW format well, but for those who do not know it, we can explain in a 'simple' way that it is a format in which our photographs are not compressed and we show the image captured by the camera in great detail, which allows you to do a good job of editing with them with hardly any image quality loss. On the other hand, we can say that the space occupied by a photograph released in RAW format is much higher than if we do not use it.
These three digital cameras are made compatible in the update launched today and as always to update we can access from the application itself on our Mac from the App Store> Updates or directly from the Apple website where they also offer us the update.
The size of this update is 6,11MB and requires OS X 10.8.2 or later or OS X 10.7.5 or later.
