Continuing a bit the thread of what I proposed in a previous article to keep our Mac up to date and review key points for the proper functioning of the system, today I bring you an application from the developer Tunabelly Software that can make these maintenance tasks a little easier.
Beyond the typical free cleaning programs, Disk Diet focuses on specific areas where we can decide which options we want to clean and which ones not, although of course it also has an automatic cleaning section in the "Diet" button.
As soon as we start this program, it will propose that let's choose the unit where we have installed the system to continue with the general cleaning since we will have to be the ones who give it permission to access.
In the next step we will see how they are shown to us cleaning options of the disk in relation to code, different cached data, logs, timetables ... from which we ourselves can choose in which of them the cleaning will be carried out or in all of them at the same time.
It should also be noted that the program includes adjustments in the cleaning of additional languages to remove the ones we only want, or to be able to directly access the mail downloads and downloads folders to check before performing the automatic cleaning. We too propose a little feedback to give our impressions and contribute in part to the development of this software.
This program is available for your download from the Mac App Store completely free and that's where its charm resides, since it is difficult to find free programs that are as effective and with so few bugs like this one, but on the other hand I also have to admit that a somewhat more worked interface would not be bad either.
Updated: It is no longer free, it has now cost € 0,89, so its acquisition is still interesting but, at least for me, the interest is no longer so "high".
