Apple opened the ban on these types of applications in the Mac App Store the day it announced more continuity between our iOS devices and Macs. translates to one word, Continuity. Based on this continuity, developers are creating numerous applications that allow the user to make and receive calls on the Mac.
At the end of last year we received several applications of this style that allow us to make calls from the Mac using the phone number of our iPhone. Today we have another application that is capable of performing this function and that is free for a limited time, it's about Phone App.
The application is very simple to use and once downloaded from the Mac App Store, you just have to give permission to access our contacts and that's it. To make a call, it is so simple how to open the app and click on the icon that appears in the upper menu bar of our Mac (in the form of a phone) and dial the number or look up the contact's name we want to call.
To make calls from our Mac, the application uses FaceTime. Phone App, also has the option of in-app purchases in the settings and for $1,99 allows us to access the well-known 'Dark Theme' or add a shortcut by key to activate the app or open the application at the beginning of the session. This Pro version is not necessary at all and the application can be used perfectly with the version that we find free today.
The necessary requirements are:
- Have OSX 10.10 or higher on the Mac
- iOS 8.1 or higher on the iPhone
- Facetime with our iCloud account
