Mail Pilot prepares for version 3 with important news

Email managers there are many. Each one wants to highlight functions that they consider relevant. In this case, Mail Pilot stands out because intends to assign a task to each email we receive. This task can be specific or simply assign the task of deleting or reading it. We will see later other functions that the mail assignment has.

The latest news we have about the application dates back to 2015, when they released version 2. Since then, they have not released any relevant update. Today they are working on the beta of what will be version 3 of this email manager

The first relevant change that we find is its interface. Unlike previous versions, in this case it is more careful and gives the impression of being lighter and considerably faster than previous versions. And it is not for less, then the developers have made the effort to rewrite the app entirely in Swift.

Despite being a beta version, the actions are quite fast and the interface responds in an agile way to each action that is requested. However, we have detected certain errors that we hope they will correct in the final version. Other errors are more relevant, such as saving the email that we are writing or searches, which will undoubtedly appear in future betas.

However the most relevant difference of this application is help us manage the hundreds of emails we receive every day. It is designed to work with Inbox Zero or what is the same, not having emails in the inbox. We see new functions for working with lists and assigning messages in those lists, something similar to gmail labels. We have keyboard shortcuts to perform actions more efficiently. Finally, Mail Pilot allows you to postpone an email at the moment in which you plan to manage it.

On this occasion, Mail Pilot will have a subscription version with more functions. This option will be named after Discovery Edition. This option will allow us to organize our mail, according to more or less predetermined parameters. For example, one option would be important messages, about these you will receive a notification each time they are received. Another option is what repetitive messages, which will be located in a separate folder for management or filing.

The price of the application remains to be seen. There is talk of some $ 20, although there may be a $ 16 launch promotion approximately. We may see a monthly subscription option, in case you want to try the app for a couple of months before finding out if it meets your needs.
