As usual, every time Apple presents a new version of an operating system, in the presentation keynote it usually offers us a large part of the news that will arrive with the final version, but some of the functions are also saved for when the final version of that version arrives, scheduled for the launch of the new iPhone models, although last year it was delayed a bit more than normal and did not arrive until the last day of September. Siri on the Mac, Picture-In-Picture, are some of the main novelties, among others, that will reach macOS Sierra with the final version, but they are not the only ones.
Little by little, both users who have already installed the beta and developers who are already adapting their applications to this latest version of OS X / macOS, are discovering new functions, which although are not worth mentioning in a keynote, it may be that for many users they can be a lifeline for those who do not know how to swim.
For now, the first beta of macOS Sierra, allows us to move to our liking and need, the different icons of the menu bar of the third party apps that we have open at that time, so that we can relocate them according to our needs in order to have them more at hand. In previous versions, only system applications could be moved, but it seems that macOS has changed the permissions.
To move any of these icons we must hold down the Command key while dragging the icon to the new location. This option only allows us to move it in position, but if we do not want it to appear in this menu, we must go to the system preferences to deactivate the option that allows it to be displayed at the top of the menu. At the moment in the first beta this option is available, but it does not mean that in the final version it is, as it has happened on some occasions, in which Apple, for whatever reason, has deactivated it.
With previous OS X you can also 😉
