Learn everything about Apple One

The Cupertino guys, they are always looking for new ways to link us to their ecosystem, and that is the case of Apple One. This pack includes several Apple services in a single payment which is cheaper than subscribing to the same services individually.

It is true that in Spain at the moment we do not enjoy Apple News+, but if you have other contracted services such as Apple Fitness+, it may be a good deal for you. Therefore, you should know everything about Apple One. Let's see it!

What does Apple One include and how much does it cost?

Apple One comes in three tiers:

  • Apple One Single: That raises the price, from the previous 16,95 euros to 19,95 euros, but you get Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and 50 gigabytes of iCloud storage for one person.
  • Apple One Family: That raises the price from 22,95 euros to 25,95 euros, but you get Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and 200 GB of iCloud storage, in addition to sharing access with up to five other people.
  • Apple OnePremium: That also raises the price from the previous 31,95 euros to 34,95, and you get Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, 2 terabytes of iCloud storage, News+ (if available in your country) and Fitness+, in addition to sharing access with up to five other people.

How much can I save by combining all services?

Learn everything about Apple One

Naturally, the cost savings only apply if you pre-subscribe to all of these services separately. If you currently only subscribe to Apple Music and nothing else, for example, then you're not going to save any money by switching to Apple One's Individual plan. That said, compared to the usual price of the included services, the Individual plan saves you about $5. euros per month, the family plan about 9 euros per month, and the premium about 22 euros per month.

Here's how the prices break down individually:

  • Apple Music: If you are a student, your price is €5,99 per month. Individually it costs €10,99 per month, and the family costs €16,99 per month.
  • Apple TV +: It has a price of 9,99 euros per month.
  • Apple Arcade: It has a price of 6,99 euros per month
  • AppleNews+: $12,99 per month (remember that it is not available in Spain at the moment)
  • Apple Fitness+: It is priced at €9,99 per month or €79,99 per year.
  • iCloud+: It is priced at 0,99 euros for 50GB, or 2 euros for 99 GB, or 200 euros for 9,99TB, 2 euros for 29,99TB and 6 euros for 59,99TB (prices per month)

It's worth noting that Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade can always be shared with your family, whether you subscribe separately or with an individual Apple One plan. Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+ also support family sharing.

What about free trials and existing subscriptions?

You can get a one-month free trial of Apple One. If you're a new subscriber and don't have existing subscriptions or free trials for any of these services, you get everything free for one month and then start paying the monthly fee.

If you have existing subscriptions or free trials running on any of the services, you will have the new services free for one month, and you will pay in the same way for the previously contracted services. At the end of the month, your individual subscriptions will be automatically canceled and you'll start paying the Apple One plan price for everything.

There is a problem, if you have gotten a trial of Apple TV+ of three months or even six months for Apple Music, if you subscribe to Apple One during that time, the free trial is reduced to one month. And they won't refund your unused free trial time if you end up canceling your Apple One plan.

The services offered by Apple One

iPhone

Apple Music

Apple Music is the audiophile's choice in our guide to the best streaming services because the entire library of over 90 million songs is available in lossless format, and you get immersive 3D sound with albums tuned in Dolby Atmos.

It has a great iPhone app and Siri support, although the Android app is okay, it's not too good for Mac.

Apple TV +

With a focus on quality over quantity, Apple TV+ is not competing with the huge libraries offered by Netflix and Disney+ for example.

The real draw of Apple TV+ is the can't-miss hit shows like Severance, Foundation, Ted Lasso and The Morning Show, and it also has excellent music documentaries. TEverything is offered in 4K with HDR, and no, you don't need an Apple TV to watch content on Apple TV+.

Apple Arcade

Marking three years since its launch, Apple Arcade's impact on mobile gaming is still unclear. What is not up for debate is the fact that it offers some of the best mobile games without ads or in-app purchases.

Now there are more than 200 titles on Apple Arcade, many of them exclusive. Some of our favorites include Mini Automotiveways, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Sneaky Sasquatch, Bloons TD6, and Assemble With Care.

iCloud +

Programs and games

Everyone gets 5 GB of iCloud storage space for free, but that soon fills up with device backups, photos, and videos. You can upgrade to iCloud+ to get 50GB, 200GB, or 2TB, and each option supports family sharing. There are several alternative cloud storage services that work well with Apple devices, but iCloud is tightly integrated.

Aside from the extra space, another reason to upgrade to iCloud+ is for HomeKit Secure Video. Allows HomeKit security cameras and video doorbells to log 10 days of activity, which can be viewed in the Home app. The 50GB plan supports a single camera, the 200GB plan covers up to five cameras, and the 2TB plan supports unlimited cameras. These HomeKit videos don't count toward your iCloud storage limit.

Every iCloud+ subscription also includes Private Relay, which encrypts your Safari web browsing, and Hide My Email, which gives you unique, random email addresses to use when you prefer to keep yours private.

Apple News +

If you like to read big magazines like National Geographic, The New Yorker, Time, People, Vogue, Rolling Stone and Popular Science, or newspapers like The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times, this is your service.

It has an elegant presentation, but it does not include everything, The New York Times and The Washington Post are not available.

Apple Fitness +

Workout subscription services became popular at the beginning of the pandemic as people could no longer go to the gym. Apple Fitness+ offers several types of workouts, from yoga to strength training, audio-guided walks and runs, and meditations, along with plenty of real-time metrics. It works through the Fitness app on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, and requires an Apple Watch Series 3 or newer.
