Insert your signature in PDF files with Preview

I recently noticed that there was an option to manage signatures in Preview that did not appear before and after doing some research I knew that was integrated relatively recently since OS X was updated to version 10.8 Mountain Lion. As most of you know, Preview is characterized by working as a viewer for PDF files in addition to many other functions that make this a truly versatile application.

Well, among all those options, that of managing the signatures seemed to me especially well implemented since it is very easy to use, in addition to being well thought out since if for example they send us a contract that we have to sign, we will never have to print it, sign it and scan it again to be able to forward it to the recipient since our signature will be saved for others occasions.

The first thing is to open the PDF file in question with the Preview and go to the section of Preferences. Once there, we just have to click on the option Create Signature to be able to add it.

Doing so will automatically activate the Mac camera, which will detect the trace of our signature to save it. Here we have to take special care to have a good pulse to place it above the blue line and above all, use white paper and a black ink pen to do so, mainly because in this way the system will detect the signature even better.

Once placed in the correct position, we will only have to check the box of Save this signature to use after exiting Preview and click OK. To insert it into the PDF in question, we just have to open the document and enable editing options in Preview to click on the symbol of the «S» and thus choose the signature that we want from how many we have saved.

This option in Preview was really one of the firsts in Lion. It is an excellent utility, I have been using it for a long time.

I try and my camera doesn't do anything. Would you know why it is?
