You sure know IKEA. The famous furniture making and selling store is world famous. And it is not because it is a kind of school or course for us to learn to assemble the furniture by ourselves, but also because it is an economical solution and offers a large catalog that allows us to furnish an entire house without having to visit several stores for it. And, what is better, they also offer software so that we can design parts of our home without having to leave our room, as is the case with planner IKEA HomePlanner.

Minimum system requirements in OS X
As you can see below, it will be rare for you not to have a Mac compatible with this IKEA planner. If we consider that OS X Lion 10.7.2 was released more than 5 years ago, we can be sure that it will work on any Mac from 2010 onwards, but my iMac is from 2009 and far exceeds the minimum requirements, which are as follows:
- 1 gigahertz (GHz) or higher (for Intel processors only).
- Graphics card: 128 MB.
- Screen resolution: 1024 x 768.
- Broadband internet connection.
- Mac OS X, Lion 10.7.2 or higher.

How to install the IKEA Home Planner in Safari
As a plug-in, installing it is very simple. Just do the following:
- We access your website http://kitchenplanner.ikea.com/ES/UI/Pages/VPUI.htm
- We check the box.
- We click on INSTALL DEVICE. We will download the plug-in in the Downloads folder.
- We double click on the downloaded file. This will open the disk image and we will see the next step that we have to take indicated with an arrow.
- We drag the plug-in to the folder on the right.
- We put the password and press the Enter key.
- Finally, if we had Safari open, we close it, reopen it and access the web page from step 1 again.
In order to access the planner, the first thing we will have to do is create an IKEA account, as long as we didn't have it created for any other reason. If this is not the case, it is a matter of filling in a few fields to get our username and password. Once registered, we can enter normally.

How to uninstall the IKEA planner plug-in
Uninstalling it is not that simple, but it is not that it is too complicated. We will do it as follows:
- We open the Finder.
- In the top bar, we click on "go".
- We press the ALT key and we will see how a new folder appears: Library. We select it.
- Now we search and enter the folder Internet Plugins.
- We look for the file Plugin and we delete it.
- We put the password and press the Enter key.
- We restart Safari.
- Optional: although it is not necessary, the deletion of any file in Mac operating systems is not 100% complete until we empty the trash, so if we do not have anything important, we empty it.
If you don't have a Mac, you have to know that the IKEA Home Planner is compatible from the Internet Explorer 9 from Windows Vista to the latest version of the old Microsoft browser. It is not compatible with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer in Windows XP. If you are Linux users, and this is an ugly habit, you will not be able to use this scheduler unless you launch it in a virtual machine of one of the supported operating systems.
