One of the options that they are not possible to perform on Apple TV is to remove applications / icons from your home screen, if it allows us the option to move them at will, changing their position to have the ones we use the most at hand, but we cannot delete the ones we do not use and that is why today we will see a simple way to 'remove' those applications from our device.
Apple does not allow us to remove them from the device but if we can hide them so that they are not visible, for this we will not have to do anything out of the ordinary on our Apple TV we will only have to access the menu of Settings> General and from entering Parental Control.
Once we get to Parental Control we can continue with the next step, we simply have to activate the option setting a password that we want 4 digits (in case you don't have it already on from previous occasions) and we can 'delete' or better said hide the applications that we do not use.
We sail down from the same Parental Control menu and we will find all the applications that we have installed on our Apple TV, we go through each of them by clicking on them and pressing the central button we will see how they show us three options:
- Show, indicating that it will always be visible
- Hide, which is what will remove it from the home screen
- Question (To ask) which means that to access the application it will ask for the password
So the hide option is the one that interests us in this case to hide applications from the main screen that we do not use or simply that we do not want anyone to be able to use them when we are not there, except know the password. If we want to show the application again, we just have to access Parental Control with the password and click on Show.
