Depending on how we use our email, it is likely that throughout the day we will receive many emails that contain web links. Opening each and every one of these emails can take us a long time, especially if we have a lot of them throughout the day. Fortunately, the Mail application, which improves with each new version of OS X, allows us to open a preview of the link without having to open the browser default that we use on our Mac. This preview offers us a limited view but more than enough to give us an idea of the link.
This function It is very similar to what we can find in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 models thanks to the 3D Touch function, which also allows us to preview the links.
Preview web links from Mail
Logically before being able to use this option, we must have at least one account configured in the Mail application macOS Sierra. Setting up our email accounts in Mail is a very simple process that will only take a few minutes.
- Now, we must go to the mail That contains the link that we want to open by preview.
- We drag the mouse to the link in question until the end of the link a button-shaped inverted triangle appears.
- Click on it and a preview of the web page will open question, on which we can move as if we were in our usual browser.
- From the preview window we can directly open the web address in Safari or add to the reading list to read later.
I just tested this feature on OS X El Capitan and it appears to have already existed. Good trick.
