How to install the final version of OS X 10.11 El Capitan if you have the beta previously installed

Surely many of you have signed up for the public beta program that Apple already made available to users some time ago. Through this program we have had the opportunity to go testing the different versions of the operating system Throughout its development between different betas, with the new features and also suffering the odd bug that has been corrected as new beta versions were released.

Now with the final version at our disposal, I have come across an unpleasant surprise, although nothing serious either, I am referring to the update to said final version if we were previously in a beta version or we had the latest Golden Master version installed prior to the final version. Specifically, the problem is that when updating through the Mac App Store it tells us that we already have OS X 10.11 El Capitan installed and it will not allow us to install it again, although fortunately this problem has an easy solution.

The solution is to download the complete package from the App Store from "Featured", that is, instead of going directly to the updates tab and clicking "Download", we will go directly to Featured, we will click on OS X El Capitan and «Download», just at that moment a pop-up will appear where we will be told that we already have version 10.11 of OS X El Capitan installed on our computer. At this point we will ignore it and we will continue to download the complete package.

Once downloaded, the OS X 10.11 installed will appear and we will only have to click on continue and follow the steps as if it were a normal installation. As you can see, it is quite easy to get it and you will save yourself headaches related to restorations from Time Machine.

On the other hand, this does not mean that you are still enrolled in this public beta program, so when you finish installing OS X El Capitan you will skip the update to the OS X 10.11.1 beta, so if you want to disable this option that it does not notify you of more beta versions, you just have to follow the steps that we indicate in this entry.
