We continue to help you in the process that millions of users will execute today, updating their devices to iOS 8. The most logical thing is that before updating to iOS 8 you make a backup of the device, both in iCloud, as locally from iTunes on your PC or Mac.
Now, if it is the case that, for example, you have two iPads, an iPad Air and for example an iPad mini Retina and both devices are called the same, Pedro's iPad, as is my case, you will see that when you see the copies that iTunes has made, they will have the same name and therefore you will not know how to differentiate them at first glance.
When we make a backup copy of our iOS device in iTunes, that backup will be recorded with the name that we have given the device. With the fragmentation of models that Apple currently has, it is increasingly common for the same user, under the same Apple account, to have, for example, two iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, and therefore, if you have decided to call them the same, backups of devices named the same will be called the same.
As you can see in the accompanying image, this user has named his two iPhones the same, so now you only know at a glance which copy belongs to each iPhone. However there is a very simple way to recognize which copy each one is and therefore which iDevice it belongs to.
First of all, we must remember that to make a "local" backup, without using the Apple cloud, we must enter iTunes, connect our device and when it appears in the left side column we right click on the name of the device and we give Save Backup. Once you make backup copies of the devices that you are going to update, you can do the update process tranquil @ since if an error occurs you can return to the starting point.
To access and see what backup copies you have saved in iTunes, you must open iTunes, go to the top menu and click on iTunes> Preferences> Devices. You will see that there is a list of existing backups. If you have two devices with the same name, to know which device each copy belongs to All you have to do is put the mouse over the name of the copy to display a glodo with IMEI information and the serial number of the device to which that copy belongs.
Hello, I changed from iPhone 5 to 6 plus, everything was fine until I lost my iPhone 6 and I wanted to put all the backup from 6 to 5. In my iTunes the backups that I have have the same information and are not up to date, I mean it lacks information that I was on 6. You would be so kind to help me. Thank you
