One of the new applications that we have available to users who are in the latest version of the Apple OS X Mavericks operating system, is Maps. This application allows us to find locations around the world, but what most of us do with it is use it to visit part of the geography in 3 dimensions. Apple continues to work on the application to add more places to this spectacular 3D vision, and despite major errors when it was launched, it continues to improve little by little.
Today we will see something that is not new in her, but that surely many have gone unnoticed. We will see how to get a PDF image of a specific area of the map and save it on our Mac, in a really simple way. Once this image is saved, we can use it for whatever we want, such as: anticipating the possibility of not having 3G or WiFi coverage to access the application when we are away from home or simply to familiarize ourselves with the area before arriving.
Come on, it is about having a part of the map available at all times and to achieve it is as simple as following these steps, open Maps on our Mac:
Now once in the exact place that we want, click on the top menu File:
And now it's about placing us where it says Export as PDF and save it where we want in PDF format:
With these steps we will already have that part of the geography saved in PDF format to use when we need it. We also have available other interesting options in the same menu tab: File> share: we can share the image with other Macs, idevice with iOS 7, option to send the image through our email, send it with the Messages application and of course, share it on social networks Facebook and Twitter.
