One of the things that makes Safari on OS X be a bit special, it is the ease with which you can configure things. In this article we are going to explain how to modify the autofill information that Safari uses when it comes to autofilling fields that have been previously specified by the user. In the case of, for example, the name, surname, address, telephone number, among others, Safari autofill does the work for us.
However, it may be that due to the situation you need to edit that autofill information because at the time it was one and now it is another. There is a very easy way to edit this information. Keep reading this article and you will end up fully configuring this action.
We can also talk about the fact that with the arrival of the iCloud cloud, Apple launched what it has called the iCloud Keychain, through which passwords that are also saved in the autofill information are synchronized between all our devices. In short, a tool that with the passing of the Safari versions has been gradually improving until it reaches its current form.
To modify the autofill information that Safari has about us, we must follow the following steps:
- Open the Safari application to bring up the Safari's top menu bar.
- Now we click on the Safari drop-down and click on Preferences. A window opens with the application preferences.
- Inside the window we can see in the upper part a series of icons that make us alternate between the different tabs that the window has. We choose the icon that takes us to the tab Autofill.
- Once inside that tab we are shown four subsections that can be edited and in each of them we will see the autofill information that Safari has, being able to delete items individually or delete everything at a stroke.
As each of the subsections have the possibility of being chosen by checking the corresponding box for each one, we can also enable or disable that in a future Safari save information related to any of these subsections again.
As you have seen, it is a simple and intuitive way to manage the data that Safari has saved from our information to self-fill on the webs. Now what you can do is go around these subsections and check if there is information that you no longer use and eliminate from that autofill.
