Many have been the times in which we have commented on some commands to execute from the Terminal in OS X and with which to be able to change some characteristic of the system that is only reserved for developers who know these commands. As you know, those from Cupertino always have certain actions up their sleeve that, Due to their complexity or their low importance, they make them inaccessible to ordinary users.
A faithful example of what we are talking about is what we are going to comment on in this article today. We are going to explain how to change the image that is presented in the OS X login screen. It is clear that it is something trivial, but that more than one user may be interested run to have your Mac more personalized.
The OS X login screen always shows a background image that matches the image we have on the desktop. However, this image can be modified and put the one you consider appropriate. To do this, what we have to do is know the exact path of the file that the system uses as the background image of the login screen. Below we list the steps you must do to change the background image of the screen that we are commenting on:
- The first thing you have to do is know the path where you have to put the desired image which is /Library/Caches/com.apple.desktop.admin.png.
- As you can see, the image file has the name com.apple.desktop.admin.png, so when we download a certain image from the Internet what we must do is rename it the same and replace the one that comes in the system by default with the new one.
Remember that when you start to dig into the bowels of OS X what we must always do is have a backup copy of the files that we modify for, in case something happens that we do not like, to be able to leave the system as it was.
It doesn't work, I've tried a thousand times and nothing
Hi Miguel, I can't tell you the same because it has worked for me.
I did it once with OnyX for Mac ...
Hello everyone. Maybe this is not the way to ask for help but I will try anyway. I have Outlook 10.10.2 installed on Mac, with Yosemite 2011, which I use out of habit and sort order because I come from a windows platform and just a few weeks ago I got involved with Mac. My problem is that I have eliminated one of the 5 email accounts in this application, creating a replacement (unfortunately I do not know why, but the previous account fell into a blacklist, which has caused me serious headaches to correct it and finally I had to discard an account used years ago by this reason) My main problem is that since there are several different email accounts, when classifying them in Outlook by accounts, a new account appears called "ON MY PC", which I assume are the messages from the previous deleted account. What I need to solve is to delete the account "ON MY PC" and transfer the files it contains to the folder of the new email account (there are many). I would be enormously grateful if someone can help me on this.
I do not know how to change the image of the screen that is when I open the mac and all users are shown,
Could someone help me please? Sure it's easy but I can't find the way. Thanks a thousand.
