How to activate Split View within Mission Control in OS X El Capitan

One of the most commented features and that finally made the leap to OS X El Capitan and certain iOS devices, is the ability to split the screen with two full-size apps. This achieves that productivity is multiplied by two since we can interact with both applications at the same time, being able to check, for example, the mail while browsing with Safari.

It is something that we could almost consider essential for certain tasks such as taking notes, reading news while checking your Twitter account and so on with other actions. El Capitan has a nifty little productivity boost that makes it easy and fun to run two apps side-by-side in OS X's native full-screen mode.

Split View mode as we already explained in another post, activated by dragging each application on each side of the screen and by pressing the green button in the upper left part of the window, to later choose another application that adapts to the other half of the screen

However, for newcomers to OS X, more even if they come from Windows 7 accustomed to clicking and dragging the window to the side to adapt it, it can be somewhat confusing. Fortunately in El Capitan we can activate it in a more natural way from Mission Control.

The first thing will be to activate this feature that we will find in the Dock of applications, in the folder or if we have it activated from system preferences, we will simply have to drag four fingers upwards on the trackpad.

This will make us see the windows of the different applications active at that moment. Simply by dragging the application window we want to the top, it will be attached to the top as if it were another desktop, at that moment if we drag another window on top of that one, it will divide it in two, automatically activating Split View.

As you can see, a more natural and simple way to activate this very useful option within the system.
