One of the functions of both iOS and macOS that demonstrate the almost perfect integration between both operating systems is found in the Handoff function, a function that allows us to continue working on our Mac after having started doing it on our iPhone or iPad.
Thanks to this function, we can start a search through Safari to continue on the Mac, continue working on a Pages, Numbers or Keynote document on our Mac without having to save the changes made ... To this fantastic function the Firefox browser has just been added.
Thanks to update number 65 of the Mozilla Foundation browser, if we usually use Firefox on our iPhone or iPad, to approach our Mac, we can continue to make the same queries without having to start from scratch.
If on our computer, the default browser is Safari, when we are in front of our Mac, the Safari icon with a phone icon will be displayed on the left side of the Dock. If the browser we use is any other, Firefox, Chrome or any other, that will be the browser icon that will be displayed when we are in front of our team. Of course, it is necessary to have Firefox installed to enjoy this option or Google Chrome, another browser that is also compatible with this function.
To be able to use the Handoff function, all devices must be associated with the same iCloud account. Another requirement is that they must have both bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled at all times. This function is only available on all Mac models with bluetooth version 4.0 or higher, so models before 2012 are not compatible with it.
