Epic Games responds to Apple on its claims that the defendant is advertising

Epic Games vs. Apple

We continue with the summer soap opera between Epic Games and Apple. After everything that happened with the Epic Games developer account On account of Fortnite, the lawsuits and the arguments of each of the companies, we get to the point where the tackle is thrown at the head to see who is the best. Apple told the judicial authority that this whole mess is nothing more than a publicity stunt and Epic Games just answered.

We recently told you that Apple had sent a statement to the judicial authority that is handling the case to warn that the Fortnite figures were falling and interest in the game was falling sharply. For what Epic Ganes had devised a strategy to win back subscribers. That strategy is to sue Apple and thus be able to obtain publicity.

The video game company has not been slow to respond to that accusation by the company led by Tim Cook. He has sent to the judicial authority his response to these statements by Apple. Epic Games states that Apple's comparisons are not fair, because you are comparing two very different time periods (October 2019 and July 2020). Epic Games launched a new Fortnite event in October and that's why the numbers are much higher than in July 2020.

Fortnite users increased during that period, states a response from Epic CEO Tim Sweeney, with user engagement data from the developer himself showing that the game's daily active users they increased by "more than 39%" in the same period.

The war is even reaching blaming the use of physical billboards in New York and other states, in which each one of the companies says that it is benefiting the other as an argument to see that neither company wants to damage the image of the other.

This is going to take a long time.
