With the arrival from OS X 10.10 Yosemite, those from Cupertino bring the interface from iOS 7 to OS X. We have started redesigning the dock, the appearance of the windows and certain icons. We are talking about beta 1 of this new system, so there are still many things that have not been adapted to this new design.
One of the first changes we observe as soon as we enter the Yosemite desktop is in the dock, which has been completely redesigned, modifying its icons and eliminating its three dimensional effect. Quite a change, knowing that it has started from a system with a skeumorphism in every detail and has reached a new simplified and minimalist style.
The new OS X Yosemite, coming in the fall, is loaded with fresh air and minimalist style. Jonathan Ive has given his design touch, in this case, inheriting many of the visual characteristics of his little brother iOS 7. The icons of the applications that come standard with the system have been redesigned and transparency effects have been added to the windows, Among many other things.
As for the three colored circles that have always been upside down than in Windows, that is, on the left, they have been endowed with actions, that is, for example, the green color has been included the option to move to full screen if a certain application allows it.
Another change is the font, which Apple has modified in this new system for the first time in the history of OS X. The Dashboard has been removed to make way for a rich Notification Center and the Safari interface has been redesigned, for example. Little by little, in successive betas we will see how the new system is being molded, which promises to be one of the most powerful systems that Apple has created.
It must be borne in mind that by lightening the system by eliminating the skeumorphism detail, it will be more fluid, so it will be used much better processor speed. At first glance, it seems that the system loses its elegance, but when you spend a few hours using the new interface, you notice that it is much more fluid, the colors are pleasing to the eye and the design gradually makes you fall in love.
It is clear that the effect will be the same as that produced with the design of iOS 7, which at first was not to anyone's taste but little by little it has gained supporters.
Well, what do you want me to tell you, one of the things that brought me closer to Apple was its beauty and elegance. I think this simplification is a step back in the image of OSX and iOS, so beautiful until now.
These simplistic things are very close to the interfaces of some Linux distros.
Greetings.
I feel exactly the same terrible thing that they lower the quality of a system that was always meticulous down to the smallest detail, one line one type had their story, most of us are designers and we look at those details ... but the worst of all is that the long you are pressed to update because the applications will stop supporting 10.9 ... so we are screwed up to the gonads ... by system I would have stayed in Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion.
It's horrible it's like the change from IOS 6 to 7, they force you to update to be up to date, a shame and you just have to see the dock how simple they leave it every time it seems more like android.
