Control your Mac with gestures thanks to the application: Control Air

We are facing an application that reminds us a lot of applications already seen in the Mac App Store such as Flutter; or we can even find similarities with third-party devices in the purest style, Leap Motion or even the Xbox Kinect. The fact is that we are facing a new application called, Control Air that allows us to perform some actions with gestures on our Mac.

The application works thanks to iSight camera that all Macs add and it works perfectly on the entire range of MacBook and iMac as long as they are updated to OS X version 10.9. The app hit the app store at the end of January and it's totally free

The operation is quite simple and we have to bear in mind that it does not work with all the applications that we would like, but it may be that little by little it will be updated to offer us more options. At the moment Let's see what apps we can use it with:

  • iTunes
  • Spotify
  • VLC
  • Quick Time Player
  • Vox
  • Rdio

You can see that they are all audio playback applications, Control Air at the moment allows hit Play, stop, fast forward, backward and even mute by doing the typical gesture with your finger on your lips. The developer himself offers us a video where you can see how it works, but it really is simpler than it seems. Move your finger from one side to the other once the application is activated and press in the air where we want to click, that is basically how it works.

Personally with these applications I always say the same thing, it may seem a bit strange to stand in front of the Mac and start making gestures, but really the app works great and it can be of use to many users. Let's hope that little by little they will implement new features.

I installed it a few days ago, it is an application of those that attracts attention and that you install to "play with it" but in the end it just stays there and this is because at the moment its operation is quite bad, it responds when It feels like it, it fails a lot and it doesn't do things that it is said to do, for example on Spotify it doesn't allow you to change songs, just lower and raise the sound, I also didn't manage to make silence work even once.

I said, it will become a good application, but today it has a long way to go.

I'm with you texuas, I just installed it and the same goes when you want and I have not been able to silence, what I said looks good but it is a real disaster.

Well, after trying on the laptop and on the imac, I have managed to make it work perfectly, I am with the first comment, it can become an App that is forgotten, but the truth is that when it works it is at least funny

I am getting used to its use and I hope that it will be improved and adapted for other players in addition to the ones it has. On the iMac it works great, I love it!
