A problem that iTunes users often encounter is that when importing songs from an album these are divided into two or more discs. Usually this is due to misinformation about the artist or album between the different tracks.
What iTunes does is read the information and since it is not entirely correct or different for several tracks, it interprets them as different discs and therefore divides them into several discs within the iTunes library.
In order to solve this setback and be able to have the iTunes library perfectly organized, follow the steps that we are going to show you below, which by means of a few small arrangements we will get all the tracks under the same album:
- We highlight all the tracks in the album by holding down the "shift" key on the keyboard while we click on each song.
- We right-click on any of the highlighted songs and select "get information" from the auto-appear menu.
- We click on "Yes" when the warning tells us «Are you sure you want to edit the information of several articles». The screen will automatically appear "Multiple item information".
- We will have to check if the artist, album and album cover are filled with the proper information. If this is not the case, you will have to continue with the next step. If the information is correct, skip to the penultimate step.
- We fill in the missing information for the artist, album artist or album and click "OK" at the bottom of the window. When we're done, we'll check to see if the songs are now grouped into an album. If not, continue with the last step.
- We write a letter at the end of the information of the artist, the artist of the album and the album and click on «OK». The disc will have been clumped, although the information is incorrect due to the extra letter at the end of each of the information boxes.
- Open the "multiple item information" window, delete the lyrics at the end of the information boxes in the artist, album artist or album and click "OK". The album should be kept grouped.
And this is the little trick you can try to join those tracks that iTunes has divided for you without your having asked.
