Check if your MacBook supports unlocking via Apple Watch

Surely we all already know the possibility of unlocking our MacBook through the Apple Watch, but not all Macs support this feature and that is why today we will see a super simple way to see if our Mac is compatible with this function.

Obviously it is necessary to wear the Apple Watch at the time of unlocking and it must be said that a series of requirements are needed for this option to be available. Another important detail that many users tell us is that this does not work for them due to the two-step verification and it is totally normal, for it to work it is an essential requirement that our Apple ID use two-factor authentication instead of two-step verification.

In addition, the first time we unlock the equipment once we have the function active, it will be necessary to add our password. Then it will no longer be necessary to type it again unless we turn off the equipment, and then it will show the notice that we have to enter the password once.

In any case if you are not sure if your Mac supports Auto Unlock using the Apple Watch, all we have to do is hold down the Option key while selecting Apple menu> System Information. Once inside the window we select Wi-Fi in the side bar and then we look for the option "Automatic unlocking: Compatible" on the right side of it. There it really shows us whether or not our equipment is compatible with this option.
