BitTorrent, the protocol designed for file sharing peer-to-peer, has announced a new video platform that will allow the massive diffusion of live video content with a latency period less than 10 seconds.
This multichannel application has support for Apple TV, iOS and Mac OS X, and has several free and paid channels of varied themes that will facilitate its arrival to all audiences.
This is how BitTorrent Live works
BitTorrent Live adapts the concept peer-to-peer to video streaming, allowing each user become a source o seed, a very effective way to minimize latency problems, clipping and drops during playback.
“The great innovation in the methods of content distribution on the internet has changed the way we watch TV. Unlike video on demand, live streaming is a constant performance and monetization issue. "
Being aware of this situation, the developers have worked so that on this platform, the video is broadcast like any torrent, so that users download and upload content at the same time. So, the users will be the nodes that will enable the emission of the signal.
Exclusive BitTorrent Live channels
Have been announced 13 free channels of exclusive content for BitTorrent Live, among which we find a variety with which the application will be presented as a very interesting alternative able to stand up to the national television broadcast.
