Bento retires to make way for FileMaker only

BENEDICT

FileMaker introduced us to Bento such as its database, oriented to domestic use, easy to use and convenient to use so that we could organize all kinds of data in one place, from contacts to projects or tasks to coordinate, all in an accessible, extremely simple and intuitive way and quickly.

Bento was an innovation in the field of personal database applications as it leverages the technologies provided by OS X to offer a comprehensive and very easy to use solution. Bento will communicate with our address book, with iCal and even with Mail.

However, FileMaker has released a statement saying that it is discontinuing its Bento database software in favor of focusing on FileMaker. Bento will continue to be available for Mac, iPhone and iPad until September 30. Technical support, Mac software updaters, and forum moderation will be active until July 30, 2014.

The company said it will not replace it with a similar product and urges users to migrate to FileMakerPro, which is offering a $ 120 discount for existing Bento customers through October 30. FileMaker says the growth of its flagship FileMaker product on iOS was one of the reasons for discontinuing Bento. Some of the Bento features, however, such as the WiFi database sync between Mac and iOS clients, not available in FileMaker.

If you want to buy Bento, the iPad version costs $ 9.99, the iPhone version $ 4.99 and the Mac version $ 49,99.
