Apple Releases Supplemental Update to macOS 10.15.4

macos catalina

A couple of weeks ago, Apple released the final version of macOS Catalina, an update with which Apple's operating system for Macs, reached version 10.15.4. One of the main novelties that this update brought us was found in the iCloud shared folders, a feature Apple announced nearly a year ago at WWDC 2019.

In addition to the shared folders, the Apple Music application began to show the lyrics of the songs synchronized with the music, it included the Time of Use function, a function that was already available in iOS and that allows us to manage the use that we do like other people on the Mac setting limits. But with all these functions, they will also arrive a number of operational and performance problems.

Some Macs, they started experience crashes and reboots without prior notice, crashes and restarts that could mainly be done when they were being performed large file transfers. Another problem occurred when users accessed the terminal's lock screen and seconds after the Mac restarted.

To solve these problems, in addition to others that had also been detected related to FaceTime and Office 365, from Cupertino they have released a complementary update of macOS 10.15.4, which includes the following improvements:

  • Fixes an issue that prevented computers running macOS Catalina 10.15.4 from participating in FaceTime calls with devices running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 or iOS 9.3.6 and earlier.
  • Resolves an issue that could cause an Office 365 account password to be prompted multiple times.
  • Addresses an issue that could cause a MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020) to hang in setup wizard or when disconnecting and reconnecting to an external 4K or 5K monitor.
  • Fixes an issue that could cause a USB-C port on the Mac to stop responding.

To download this update, we must access Psystem references> Software updates. After the download and installation of this supplemental update is complete, your Mac will restart.
