Apple releases macOS Big Sur 11.5 beta 2 for developers

MacOS beta

Two weeks later After a surprise release of the first beta of macOS 11.5, Apple has released the second version for developers. If you are enrolled in the developer program, the OTA for the second version macOS Big Sur 11.5 beta 2 should appear soon if it is not already. You can also download the beta version from the Apple developer website.

Four days after the first beta 11.5 arrived, Apple released macOS 11.4 to the public with a zero-day security fix, expanded GPU support, and more. macOS 11.5 beta 2 comes with the Build number 20G5033c. There weren't many new features discovered in the first beta version of macOS 11.5, but a new HomePod timer feature was spotted that will work with the Home app and can reach Macs and iOS devices.

Although as we always say that when it comes to betas it is best to install them on a secondary computer because of what may happen, Apple has shown that the betas it launches are usually very stable. But we are talking about one for developers, so be careful what you do. In addition, nothing important has been highlighted for the moment to play it. At the moment macOS Big Sur 11.5 beta 2 is a beta released for bug fixes and basic improvements. We will continue inquiring and investigating to see what we can discover.

If you detect something of interest, we will be happy to include it in this article or in later ones. But as we said, we have not discovered at the moment nothing new, more than anything because it is so recent that we have barely downloaded it on our devices.
