Apple glasses could also use the LiDAR scanner

Apple Glasses could be closer than ever

When Apple launched and mentioned LiDAR, some of us were frowning trying to guess what we could use this technology for beyond measuring the wall or seeing a virtual product in the real world. Soon the doubts were dispelled and now we wonder how we could do certain actions without this scanner. The iPhone 12 already has it and now, according to new information, a patent reveals that it could also be in Apple glasses.

The patent indicates that the LiDAR scanner could be used to focus and see better in low light conditions.

New patent on LiDAR in Apple glasses

A new patent registered by Apple reports that the LiDAR scanner could be included in devices such as the company's probable glasses of which we have already spoken so many times. In this manner the environment around the user could be detected when the light is too low and activated so you can see clearly.

In the patent named "Head-mounted display with low light operation" describes multiple ways of sensing the environment around the user of a head-mounted display (HMD). That is to say, thanks to sensors the surrounding environment can be registered. The results achieved are transmitted to the user in a "graphic content" that is not specified in the patent

Apple's HMD could also use "ultrasonic sound waves," but regardless of what the device produces, the patent application deals with the precise measurement of the environment and the transmission of that information to the user. It is very possible that it is implanted in Apple glasses. Of course it would be a very good place to test it and where it was necessary to have this technology.

As always when we talk about patents, you will probably never see the light. At the moment it is an idea and it may be embodied or however it remains in the bag of possibilities that never materialized.
