When it seemed that we had already returned to a relative normality, new normal as some call it, after the pandemic caused by the coronavirus, the expected second wave or outbreaks it has not taken so long to appear as some experts claimed, and every day we find news of new infections.
Last week, Apple was forced to close all the Apple Stores it has in Florida, due to the increase in infections due to coronavirus. Now it is the turn of Australia, specifically the state of Victdoria, where Apple has closed 4 of the Apple Stores that it has in the country.
Apple has updated store hours on its website to reflect the closure of four of them: Southland, Doncaster, Fountain Gate and Chadstone, all of them located in the state of Victoria, complying with the closing protocol of Phase 3 announced by the Prime Minister of the state of Victoria Daniel Andrews.
The 4 Apple Stores that have closed their stores are located in shopping malls and join a Melbourne store, Apple Highpoint, which was already closed last week for the same reason. The state of Victoria has experienced in the last two weeks a peak in the number of reported cases, according to the newspaper The Guardian.
The upward trend in the number of infections has forced Prime Minister Andrews to establish a 6 week closure which begins at 23:59 p.m. on July 8. Melbourne citizens, as well as others living in densely populated areas, are again facing confinement in their homes, restricting movements to buying food, essential items, caring for people, exercise and daily work.
The outbreaks of coronavirus in the United States have already forced Apple to close more than 80 stores distributed in 14 states, to which are added those of Australia.
