It appears shortly that Apple will extend its Made for iPhone iPad and iPod (MFi) program to other manufacturers to include manufacturing licenses accessories for the Apple Watch, specifically the charging bases and the charger itself, using its own cable and construction materials.
This will give us a wide range to choose from among different manufacturers for leave charging our watch without having to be releasing it anywhere with the cable hooked, in this way it will always be held at a point in addition to being much more aesthetic in sight than having a cable plugged in.
This is similar to how Apple offers these licenses to third parties with lightning cables, that is, suppliers that supply Apple directly provide equal access to cargo components to third-party accessory manufacturers to incorporate these materials into their designs. The end result is that the cable is very similar in termination and quality to the original Apple cable, now we will see if the "round magnetic pad" that includes the Apple Watch cable can also "imitate" just as well when there are more options. in the market to choose.
The availability of this Apple Watch magnetic charging module will give manufacturers more flexibility in the creation of the cargo stand designs, so it is very possible that we will see designs with the cable integrated in the stand itself as well as the magnetic module without having to wind the cable or see it exposed inside the stand itself, as shown in the image above. This integration will allow us to see more creative and minimalist designs than those that currently exist.
Certifications are still in an early stage, there are only hints of evidence of the first cables and charging stands where surely at the end of the year or even before we can see already the first cables and charging stands under Apple's MFi certification.
