Something touched Apple this morning!
And yes, the Cupertino company confirms that the Safari browser for OS X 10.11.3 and Safari of iOS devices in version 9 to 9.2 have been affected by a problem that did not allow the user to use the URL address bar normally and literally it blocked navigation by duplicating the text in it.
For now Apple already announces that the problem is solved and I can say that I have activated the suggestions in the settings again and it works well, but we have been left with the desire to know the basis of the problem for which this morning we have been affected with problems in the Apple browser.
Note that not all users are safe from this bug now. It is true that they have solved the error and that it works again for me personally with the active browser suggestions, but some users keep giving them an error on iOS and the browser keeps closing. That is why activating the function again can be done tomorrow without problems and all problems should be solved. But if you want you can try to activate them now to see if it does not fail you and if it does, deactivate them again, yes, restart Safari and the Mac, iPad, or iPhone before.
On this occasion they have not clarified the reason for the failure and have limited themselves to announcing that it was already solved, something that is to be appreciated by the company for the speed at which the problem was detected and solved, but on the other hand we would like to know the reason for the error that led me personally and many of you.
I still have this problem on safari to this day, it is not solved
I have it too.
I could not navigate today on my iPad air in Safari
Hello. Thanks for your articles and contributions.
I still have the same problem with Safari even after I have turned off the suggestions.
1. Safari crashes when clicking on a link to open it in another tab.
2. Do not download any pdf or other documents.
3. If you show a pdf, the "open in" option does not appear.
4. Errors also occur in private browsing.
PDF documents are displayed in other browsers but the option to "open in" does not appear. I have tried Opera, Chrome, Mercury, and Dolphin.
Do you know a browser that allows you to download pdf, zip, doc, ... and pass them to other applications with "open in"?
Thank you very much
Good Jan,
It is strange what you tell us since Apple's problem could be solved by searching in private browsing windows. So if your problem persists, the best thing would be to make a backup copy and update again or take the Mac to the SAT
