Amphetamine for Mac reaches version 2.0

amphetamine

Last July I made an entry talking about one of the applications that I am using so that my Mac does not go into sleep mode, and now this application called, Amphetamine, is updated to version 2.0 to add a number of interesting improvements.

The new version released by the developer, William Gustafson, 100% rewritten to improve performance, reliability, and be more similar between different versions of OS X that we have today supported by Apple. AppleScript support is also added that allows us to organize the on and off sessions at will, allowing us to add a date and many more improvements that we will see after the jump.

Obviously they add stability improvements and some bug fixes in the operation of the application. The rest of the improvements implemented in this version of Amphetamine 2.0 are the following: the possibility to activate the screen saver, the Renewal unit selector for the Drive Alive function, adds new functions with hot keys, new status icons and a renewed icon for when we start the application.

Without a doubt, it is one of the applications to consider if we do not want our Mac to go into sleep mode and it has multiple options that we can configure at will. The Amphetamine app is still totally free on the Mac App Store.
