On September 20, Apple released the final version of macOS Sierra, a new version of the operating system whose first novelty is found in the name, passed from OS X to macOS, to adapt to the nomenclature that Apple currently uses in its operating systems . Another important novelty that macOS has brought us is the possibility of using Siri on the desktop of our Mac, a function highly anticipated by many and that offers us new possibilities for searching the internet and interacting with our Mac. Another function that has also come from the hand of macOS Sierra is the Picture in Picture function, also known as PIP, which allows you to place an internet video in a floating window.
This function is ideal if we want to take notes on a video while it is playing or if we want to be watching music videos while consulting our Facebook or Twitter account. But logically, it is always the end user who gives the utility that best suits their needs. I advance you, that for Netflix it is not worth, We do not know the reason but there is no way to put the Netflix playback window in a floating window through any browser. A shame.
Enable Picture in Picture in macOS Sierra
Unlike other functions that are easier to activate, if we want to activate this production mode, we must follow the following steps:
- Once we have positioned ourselves in the video we want to see, we direct the mouse to it and hold down the CMD key and then double click on the video with the right button.
- A menu will then appear with different options. We select Activate picture in picture. The video will appear in a floating window.
- Now we just have to minimize Safari's play tab so that they can be scrolled around the desktops and the video continues to play in a floating window.
