App Stores in China can now accept credit and debit cards from Union Pay bank

UnionPay

On many occasions we have talked about the problems that Apple has had and is having to sell its products in China. Today's news closes on the field of the online Apple Store and the possibility that there is, as of today, to use credit and debit cards from the great Chinese bank UnionPay on Apple's website. This is great news for all users in Japan, who It comes at a time when we all know that Apple is in negotiations with Alibaba for a strategic alliance.

UnionPay cards are the most famous in the country, due to the fact that the vast majority of the population owns them for their daily use. Until now, Apple had not managed to close the agreements that would allow the Chinese bank to let the use of its cards in the online store.

UnionPay has put more than four million cards into circulation in China, so as we can see, this movement will make purchases at the Apple Store in China easier than before, allowing users to link these cards to your Apple IDs, just as many of us do in other parts of the world and specifically in Spain.

In the words of Eddy Cue, Apple's vice president of Internet software and services:

“The ability to purchase apps and make purchases using UnionPay cards has been one of the most requested features from our customers in China. China is already our second largest market for app downloads and we are now providing users with an incredibly convenient way to purchase their favorite apps with just one click.

The fact that UnionPay debit and credit cards can be used is one more movement that those of the bitten apple are working, and hard, to be able to enter a market that until now had not been conquered. Now we just have to wait and see if finally Alibaba makes alliance with Apple and the new Apple Pay is established in China, with all that that means for the company with the bitten apple.

"Japanese country ..." Sorry, but the Japanese term refers to Japan and not to China.
